Deputy Collector, clerk arrested for taking bribe

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Deputy Collector Dr Kiran Mahajan and clerk Rajesh Randive for accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakh from Sanjiv Gawade for relaxing certain norms related to transaction of tenancy land located near Khand village in Mulshi taluk.

SP (ACB) Sarang Awadu00a0said the complainant had approached the bureau in June 2012 and lodged a complaint against Mahajan.
ACB officials had laid several traps to arrest Randive in the past, but to no avail.

Randive’s luck ran out and he was caught red-handed taking money on Mahajan’s behalf yesterday evening.
