A 19-year-old biker rammed into a policeman at 7 Bungalows in the early hours of Sunday while trying to avoid being caught drunk driving near a nakabandi.

Shahid Mehmood Tungarkar, a resident of Versova and a small time DJ, was returning home after a party with a friend on his bike yesterday. At around 3.15 am, Tungarkar saw a nakabandi at 7 Bungalows in Andheri. Afraid of being caught drunk, he sped up, collided into Assistant Police Inspector Balaji Dahisale, who was part of the nakabandi team. Tungarkar lost control of his bike and crashed onto the ground, after which the police apprehended him.
