Stores are offering huge rebates in May: they want to make up for poor sales in the festival season that ended with Ugadi
Shops selling clothes, furniture, mobile or footwear are ready to give away their wares at discounts as high as 70 per cent, and at a time when sales aren't the norm.
During the normal discount seasons typically before the budget and during Ugadi and Dassehra shops usually offer 20-40 per cent discounts. But business has been so dull in the last few months that shops are offering post-Ugadi discounts to draw customers. Ugadi usually comes in March.
