Five persons were crushed to death when a lorry ran over them at Katti Sanghavi village, about 50 km away from here, police said.

The mishap occurred on Thursday, while the five were standing by the roadside. They were in the village to attend a cattle fair, police said. The lorry driver fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle, they said.
