Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah urges Congress to revoke hijab ban in Karnataka

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has called upon Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to take action to lift the ban on hijab (headcover) imposed by the previous BJP-led Karnataka government.

Expressing concern over the government`s interference in religious practices, Abdullah criticized the decision, particularly during Congress` tenure. He urged Congress President Sonia Gandhi, along with senior leaders Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, to reconsider and work towards revoking the ban on hijabs in Karnataka, news agency PTI reported.
