High altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir continue to shiver in intense cold as fresh spell of snowfall lashed the region, while rainfall in plains gave respite to the people from the biting cold.

Moderate to heavy snowfall was experienced in higher reaches of the state, including Gulmarg and Pahalgam hill resorts since last night, officials said.
