According to Northern Railways, prompt preventive infrastructure, such as a canopy, helped avoid major damage

The India Meteorological Department has issued fresh warnings for heavy rain across Uttarakhand File Pic.
Heavy rainfall on Tuesday caused extensive waterlogging in several parts of Haridwar, significantly inconveniencing residents. With the Ganga River’s water level rising steadily, the police have issued an advisory urging people to avoid visiting the ghats and to exercise extreme caution, ANI reported.
Train services on the Haridwar-Dehradun route were also disrupted after a boulder fell onto the tracks between Haridwar and Motichur. According to Northern Railways, prompt preventive infrastructure, such as a canopy, helped avoid major damage. No injuries or casualties were reported, and restoration work is underway.
In an official statement, Northern Railways said, “A boulder fell onto the track between Haridwar and Motichur. Thanks to the protective canopy, there was no significant damage. Restoration work has begun, and sectional officers are at the site. Train traffic will be resumed as soon as possible," ANI reported.
