'Heavy to very heavy rainfall' alert by IMD for Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh

Heavy showers are expected in northern, eastern, and southern Haryana, including Chandigarh, from August 4 to 6

The Meteorological Centre in Chandigarh, has issued a weather alert forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh between August 4 and August 6, 2025, reported the ANI. 

In the past 24 hours, several regions in Haryana witnessed light to moderate showers, while parts of Punjab recorded rainfall at isolated locations. Additionally, heavy rainfall was reported from a few pockets in Haryana.

According to the IMD, rainfall activity is set to pick up intensity over the next few days. On August 4, light to moderate rain is expected at scattered places, with a sharp increase in rainfall across northern and eastern Punjab, as well as northern, eastern, and southern Haryana and Chandigarh from August 5 onward, reported ANI.
