India on Monday played down the controversy over the derogatory remarks by a BJP leader, saying its Ambassador to Qatar has already conveyed its position to the Gulf country and there was nothing new to add.
Briefing reporters on Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu's visit to Qatar, Secretary (Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs) Ausaf Sayeed said both Qatar and India have agreed to further strengthen their friendship.
