Indian Navy to commission second ASW, Androth, on Oct 6

Androth has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata and is a major step forward in India’s efforts to build its own defence equipment, an official statement said

The Indian Navy is set to commission Androth, the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), at a special ceremony on October 6, 2025 at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, an official statement said on Sunday.

The event will be led by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, it said.
