According to him, passengers tried in vain to shut the door but its latch was welded in place. There were other passengers who were complaining about rakes with similar problems. Vinayak Kadam, who travels from Dombivli to Titwala, said, &ldquo;This has become routine for us. Most of the time, due to some problem with the latch, we are not able to shut the doors and have to get wet forcefully. In the mornings, while going to office, it becomes embarrassing.&rdquo; A senior railway official from CR who requested anonymity said, &ldquo;There are problems in some of the rakes which had been repaired initially. We have sorted those out and only few are remaining, which will be repaired before the monsoon intensifies. The screws of the doors were tightened in a few rakes, and we are in process of rectifying that also.&rdquo; The official also added that they have to check all the elements related to the coach for the smooth running of the train. However, A K Singh, PRO, Central Railway, said, &ldquo;We are inspecting every single rake and whether their doors are functional.
