Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday strongly criticised the Maharashtra government’s move to impose a levy of Rs 10 per tonne of sugarcane on mills for the Chief Minister's (CM) Relief Fund and Rs 5 per tonne for assistance to flood-affected farmers.

He called the decision "completely wrong" and said it should be reconsidered.
