Maharashtra government's newly launched Electric Vehicle (EV) policy aims to promote the manufacturing and the use of electric vehicles in the state, state transport minister Pratap Sarnaik said on Wednesday.
Sarnaik was speaking at the Commercial Vehicle Forum 2025, one of India's biggest events for the commercial vehicle and road transport industry, held in Pune, an official statement said.
The EV policy, effective from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2030, includes measures such as mandatory EV-charging infrastructure in new residential buildings and incentives such as toll exemptions for EV users.
