The Nanded Police in Maharashtra seized banned gutkha worth Rs 72.93 lakh from vehicles and godowns across the district and nearby Hingoli on Monday as part of a crackdown on illegal tobacco products.

During early-morning raids in Hingoli, a police team recovered gutkha valued at Rs 14.67 lakh from three vehicles and booked two persons under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety and Standards Act, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
