Latur police have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against history-sheeter Ajinkya Nilkanth Mule and his gang, a senior official said on Monday.

The case stems from a violent incident on March 11, when Mule and his associates allegedly assaulted a man named Ajay Babasaheb Chinchole at a bar on Ambajogai Road. According to police, the group had consumed alcohol at the establishment and attacked Chinchole with a knife, iron cutter, rod, and beer bottle after he refused to pay their bill, according to the news agency PTI.
