Naval Kishore Ram hails from Motihari village in East Champaran district of Bihar. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2007. His first posting was in Nanded, and he later worked with the Zilla Parishad in Yavatmal for two years. He served as District Collector in Beed and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad)

In a major administrative development, 2007-batch IAS officer Naval Kishore Ram has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday.
The Maharashtra State Government’s General Administration Department issued an official order on 21 May, directing him to assume charge on 31 May 2025, following the retirement of the current Commissioner, Dr Rajendra Bhosale.
