Maharashtra rains: Ajit Pawar assures government help to farmers

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar visited Solapur’s rain-hit areas, urging farmers not to lose hope and directing officials to provide immediate aid. He assured the government stands firmly with farmers. However, Congress criticised the Rs 2,215 crore relief package, calling it insufficient against massive crop losses

After heavy rains lashed parts of Maharashtra that devastated the Marathwada region and other parts, the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday directed the administration to ensure immediate assistance to farmers. While directing the officials to offer financial aid to those farmers who have suffered crop losses in the recent heavy rains in the state, Ajit Pawar also interacted with the farmers. 

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, on his visit to Karmala taluka of Solapur district, interacted with farmers and local authorities. Pawar at Karmala talika urged farmers "not to lose heart" and assured all assistance to them, as reported by news agency PTI.
