An employee from a tehsil office in Maharashtra's Nagpur district has been arrested on charges of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs 1.05 lakh to facilitate the updating of land records, an official announced on Thursday.
The 50-year-old, who holds the position of circle officer at the tehsil office in the Umred subdivision, stated the official from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, as per the news agency PTI.
According to officials, the complainant had acquired agricultural land in the village of Rajurwadi. Lacking a farmer's certificate, he sought assistance from the tehsil office to amend the land registration records.
