A woman in Maharashtra's Latur district is in critical condition after being allegedly set on fire by her husband for confronting him about meeting another woman, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred on July 24 following a heated argument, police said, adding that the 25-year-old woman was seriously injured in the incident.

According to police, the husband, with the help of his female friend, allegedly poured petrol on the woman and set her ablaze, according to the news agency PTI.
