A dispute over the sale of a second-hand bike led to the murder of a youth in the Jamia Nagar area of south Delhi on Monday.
Police said Shahnawaz, 24, was shot by Ihtesham from whom he bought a bike on Sunday afternoon. However, Ihtesham did not give him the registration papers and asked him to come on Monday.
"When we went there on Monday, Ihtesham started dilly dallying. Then, he asked us to collect the papers from his friend Nafees," Shahnawaz's brother Shadab told MiD DAY.
"We threatened Ihtesham with police action and returned home. Later, Ihtesham called Shahnawaz on his cellphone and asked him to come near Noor Nagar to collect the papers of the bike," he added.
Ihtesham shot Shahnawaz along with his friends. Ihtesham was rushed to the Holy Family hospital where he succumbed to his gunshot wounds. The police have registered a case of murder.
Shahnawaz used to run a school cab service in the area. His father runs an interior decoration business.
