There are no signboards and no indication of what to expect until you enter the door to an abandoned office space.

Toy airplanes that don't quite look like the plastic things you grew up with lie strewn all over the place. Another room holds off-roaders, trucks and buggies among a heap of spare parts and accessories.

What you've entered is the showroom-cum-workshop of Bombay R/C Models that specialises in "big boys' toys" remote controlled aircrafts, bikes, cars, even submarines.

Moiz Arsiwala and Imran Shaikh (aka Mojo and Immy's), both self confessed fans of remote controlled gizmos decided to launch the store during a casual conversation around their hobby.

"We used to beg friends and relatives who travelled abroad to get us spares or new toys. Sometimes, we ordered by post and ended up spending a fortune.

That's when we decided to start something of our own so that others like us wouldn't have to go through the ordeal," smiles Immy.

From then on, they haven't looked back. Apart from dealing in planes, cars and bikes of known brands the two tinker with imported brands to make "even more powerful".

The dup have just procured two mini submarines that can be slid inside fish tanks. Their next consignment will bring miniature versions of real submarinesu00a0 that can be fitted with cameras and sent into any water body, and a two feet wide, remote controlled kite.

what's on offer: The entire workshop is stacked with goodies wall-to-wall. That includes RC cars like MTA-4 Sledge Hammer S50 (Rs 33,000), ST1 Stadium Truck, O/L (Rs 25,000) and Tomahawk BX (Rs 15,000) among others.

The most popular bike here is the FM-1e Ducati 999R Motorcycle(Rs.12,036). The range starts at Rs 11,000. As for planes, prices start at Rs 25,000 for the basic trainer model, to twin engine Mustang, to F16s.

You can buy the body and choose from a host of engines and radio sets available. A wide variety of choppers are also on display.

what we liked: For those who are fascinated but don't know where to begin, Bombay R/Cu00a0 Models is just the place.

They have basic models in cars, planes and choppers, and they are happy to train you use them. The coolest find are the wall crawlers (cars that can run on the wall like Spiderman).

The crawlers are available in Hummer, Mini Cooper and Ferrari versions for Rs 1,550 onwards. And if you can't own a real BMW, buy a scaled down, radio controlled racer version by Japan-based manufacturers Kyosho (Rs 10,000). Miniature submarines (Rs 3,000) are great for those of you who like to spend quality time with your fish.
