Modi accuses Congress of dividing the country

Speaking at a rally from another replica of the Red Fort here, Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday accused the Congress Party of dividing the nation, and said that the people will have to 'rescue' the nation from the ruling government in the 2014 General Elections

“Country is divided because of Congress. There is separate status for Kashmir because of Congress, war over water between states because of Congress.u00a0

We need independence from Congress if India has to develop,” Modi said. “Even Gandhi wanted to disband Congress after Independence. …We got to rescue India from Congress, its allies and brokers,” Modi added. In his address, Modi also appealed to the youth voters for their support and promised them employment if elected in 2014. “The youth should decide that they want to live a life of dignity and vote for a government that can give you employment,” he said.
