Mumbai Crime Branch, on Sunday, arrested and brought the accused, 25-year-old Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, from Rajasthan to Mumbai.

He is reportedly accused of threatening Salman Khan in a YouTube video. He is a resident of Boarda village in the Hindoli area of Rajasthan.

Further investigation regarding the case is underway, reported ANI.

According to the reports from ANI, the sources said that Gujar allegedly discussed the Bishnoi gang and made threats to kill Salman Khan in the YouTube video posted on a channel named 'Are Chhodo Yar'.

DCP Datta Nalawade said, "An offense was registered at the South Cyber Police Station under CR No. 66/24, invoking sections 506(2), 504, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 66(d) of the Information Technology (IT) Act against the accused who threatened Salman Khan in a YouTube video."

He added, "Considering the seriousness of the case, a police team was dispatched to Rajasthan for the investigation. The team, with the accused in custody, is expected to arrive at the domestic airport at 2:15 PM today."

Salman Khan had faced numerous death threats earlier. One of them was back in 2023.

2023 Salman Khan threat case

According to the official sources, a complaint was received by the Bandra Police on Saturday from a friend of Salman Khan, who had been known to him for many years. The complainant told the police that in the afternoon, an email was received at his office mentioning the name of Salman Khan. The content of the email mentioned an interview with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

The Bandra police had initiated the process of bringing in the medical student from the UK, who had been identified as the sender of the email threatening actor Salman Khan in March. The youth, who belonged to Haryana, sent the email to one of Khan’s friends on behalf of gangster Goldy Brar, said sources. Officers then investigated whether he had any links to Brar, police said, without revealing any more details about the youngster.

The third-year medical student sent the email while partying with friends on March 18, and he likely did it for fun, according to sources.
