He happily takes whatever form one wishes to see him in and this time around on Ganesh Chaturthi, what better way to feast than the way the elephant God himself would have liked to.
At the Ganesha Organic fest at Modak, the restaurant which is simply an ode to the God with the fat belly, you can feast on food grown, sourced and cooked organically served with four types of modaks (a traditional sweet offering to Lord Ganesha).
On your organic thali you will be served Kosambari, a crunchy salad made of yellow moong beans, tossed with thinly sliced and cut coconut and cucumber, Veggie Bhajji, Bombay Saagu, a potato curry, Porial, Rajma/Chana, Pulao with Raita followed by Steamed Rice and Sambhar and Gulab Jamun and Fig and Honey Ice Cream for dessert.
As fresh as fresh can be. Infact, these come straight from the farms to your forks. Well, not really fork, as this is a mix of Maharashtrian and Kannadiga cuisine thali, which is best eaten with hands.
Once you're satiated, you can also feast your eyes on 1.000 types of Ganesha from all over the world, which are up for an exhibition. The Ganesha Habba just got better and you don't even have to worry about the extra calories that are a part of our Indian festivals.
