New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday met the protestors, who were observing a candle light vigil for Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Taniam, who died after he was beaten with sticks in South Delhi&rsquo;s Lajpat Nagar area.

Addressing the protest carried out by North Eastern activists here at Jantar Mantar, Rahul said, &ldquo;My spirit and heart is with you.
I am 100 percent with you. You can expect very strict action against people who did this.&rdquo; Describing the incident as totally unacceptable, Gandhi assured that Nido will get justice, and the culprits will not be spared.
&ldquo;There is only one India. And that India belongs to all of us. We are going to ensure you get respect in this country,&rdquo; he added.
Nido Taniam, a student from Arunachal Pradesh, had reportedly gone to Lajpat Nagar on January 29 in search of an address, and was allegedly mocked by someone at a shop for the style his hair.
In a fit of rage, Nido broke a glass at the shop but he paid money for that. Afterwards he was allegedly beaten with sticks.
The next day, when he didn&rsquo;t wake up, his friends rushed him to AIIMS, where he was declared dead.
