No arrests have been made so far in connection with the alleged acid attack even as a new twist has emerged with the prime suspect’s location turning out to be away from the crime scene, police said on Monday.

A 20-year-old woman allegedly sustained burns on her hands when a “stalker” and his associates threw acid at her near Delhi University’s Laxmi Bai College in northwest Delhi on Sunday, an official said. Police said they have detained one Jitender, who is alleged to be the accused. Jitender is a resident of Mukundpur, where the victim also lives.
