Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah resumed office on Friday after state Governor N N Vohra dismissed PDP''s allegation that he was involved in the 2006 sex scandal. 
On Thursday, Vohra rejected Omar''s resignation, and asked him to continue as the Chief Minister. 
"The Governor has advised the Chief Minister that, based on the information supplied to him by the Union Home Ministry, there is no basis for Omar seeking to resign," the Governor''s spokesperson said.
Omar had resigned on July 28 after PDP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Beig had levelled the allegation that Omar was involved in the infamous Srinagar sex scandal. 
A leading television channel report, however, stated Omar had not resigned as Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday instead he had just sent a conditional letter urging acceptance of his resignation if proven guilty in the sex scandal case. 
Meanwhile, Omar blamed the then PDP chief Mufi Mohammed Sayeed for maintaining a mysterious silence when the scandal first surfaced in 2006 because his own people were involved. 
He blamed that Sayeed was "scared" his government would fall as his own men were also "involved" in the scam which came to light during 2006 after the arrest of a woman. 
Though the Centre has clarified that Omar''s name has not figured in the CBI report on the sex scandal, the PDP has demanded a judicial inquiry in the case, saying that it was not satisfied with the probe.
