Online CAT exams go for a toss after servers crash

The first online Common Admission Test (CAT) has gone for a toss after several CAT servers crashed at various centres across the country.

CAT exams in many centres have been cancelled after students were unable to take the entrance tests online.

According to news reports, the servers in Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Punjabu00a0and Lucknow crashed during the tests.

Nearly 250,000 students across the country appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) Saturday. The scores of this test will determine a student's admission to a management institute, including the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

There has been a major change in the CAT this year as it has become a computer based test from an optical marker reading test.
