In a statement he said that it was a last minute decision that PM will travel to Ferozepur from Bhatinda by road and not helicopter.
He also said, “All arrangements were made to take care of his security, he was supposed to travel by helicopter and not road, it was a last minute change. No security lapse.”

He added, “70,000 people were supposed to attend the rally, but only 700 turned up.”
CM’s statement comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs slammed the Punjab government for not deploying additional security for the PM and asked it to take strict action.
During his trip to Punjab’s Ferozepur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was stuck on a flyover in for 15-20 minutes due to blockade by some protesters and returned without attending an event at a martyrs' memorial.
