The city police don't appear terribly bothered about the safety of the KSRTC and BMTC bus stands in the Majestic area under the jurisdiction of the Upparpet police.

The highly sensitive area that was to get 40 police personnel four years ago has just four. An announcement to the effect was made by the city police department back then only to be forgotten.
Officials are quick to attribute the poor police presence in the area to lack of manpower.
It may be recalled that KSRTC and BMTC bus stands were prime targets for the terrorists during the 2008 Bangalore serial blast but were spared because the ultras changed their plans because they ran short of time.
