In view of rising speculations over the reasons behind Jagdeep Dhankar's resignation. The opposition has been coming with all guns blazing at the ruling party. On day 2 of the Parliamentary Monsoon Session, senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari expressed shock while labelling it as a "dark day in parliamentary history."

While talking to the media, Pramod Tiwari said, "This is shocking. I would urge him to reconsider. He was well-versed in parliamentary knowledge and served as a voice for the farmers. This is a dark day in parliamentary history when a Vice President is unable to complete his term," as cited by the news agency ANI.

On the other hand, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also said, "We are concerned about his health. It is very sad that he had a sudden health issue. Our best wishes for his speedy recovery."
