Oximeters, thermal scanners for cows in UP's 'gaushalas'

This comes at a time when there are reports of hospitals turning away patients and long waits at crematoriums at several places in the state as it battles the second wave of the pandemic.

Amid the surge in coronavirus cases, the Uttar Pradesh government is providing oximeters and thermal scanners for cows housed in the state`s ‘gaushalas’.

The death toll from Covid-19 rose to 14,501 in the state on Thursday with 353 more fatalities, while 26,780 new cases pushed the infection tally to 14,25,919, an official said.
