In an unexpected move, the Port Trust has asked the development authority to pay for the air space above the Mumbai-Trans Harbour Link currently being constructed by the latter
In what may be termed as a bizarre demand, the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has asked the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to pay approximately Rs 157 crore as ‘air space’ charges for the Mumbai-Trans Harbour Link which will be passing over MbPT waters.

High and dry: The MMRDA are not planning to pay the MbPT for the space above the MTHL, on the grounds that the port authority will benefit the most bridge from the bridge after its completion. File pic
