Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the world's tallest bridge over the Chenab River.

This project will boost connectivity to the valley in a very subtle way, enabling the economy to grow at a much rapid pace. As reported by PTI, the PM had already reached Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. After his arrival at the Air Force station in Udhampur, he left in a chopper to inaugurate the bridge.

Considering the tensions between India and Pakistan, a multi-tier security setup has been put in place for the prime minister's visit. This is his first visit to the Union Territory after Operation Sindoor, which was launched by the Indian Armed Forces across the border; it was done to reportedly hit terrorist infrastructure during the intervening night on May 6 and 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 dead on April 22.
