Pune Metro rails arrive from Siberia

Pune Metro project has been undertaken by MAHA Metro, a SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) of Government of India and Government of Maharashtra

The first lorry carrying rails meant for Pune Metro arrived in the city today. They were unloaded at Kharalwadi. The head-hardened rails of UIC60 E1, 1080 Grade with 25m and 18m length are being used.

The process of laying the rails on the 4.5km elevated stretch that is ready will now begin. The rails arrived from the Siberia Workshop of Swiss-based East Metals AG. The total requirement for the rails for the Pune Metro Rail project (Reach 1 & 2) is 9,000 metric tonnes.
