In a Gurdaspur village on Sunday, the Border Security Force and Punjab Police neutralised a 'hexacopter' drone and confiscated drugs weighing more than 11 kg, according to a news release. Around 5:20 in the morning, BSF troops in the Gurdaspur district's Agwan village found a sizable shipment of suspected heroin while conducting a search operation. There were about 11.036 kg of narcotics. However, the statement stated that even though the anti-drone technology was able to successfully engage the drone—which was thought to be enormous in size—it was not possible to retrieve it in a surrounding region.

According to an ANI report, at around 10 in the morning, Punjab police officers from the Tibar police station were able to recover the downed drone from an agricultural field in the village of Talwandi Virk in the district of Gurdaspur. An assembled 'hexacopter' was identified as the recovered drone. Officials say that the hexacopter is thought to have crashed in an open field after being technically engaged by the anti-drone system, which caused it to veer off its intended flight path. A Pakistani drone was found earlier in the day by the Border Security Force (BSF) in the vicinity of the Amritsar border.

The seized drone has been recognised as a DJI Mavic 3 Classic manufactured in China, according to the BSF. In a significant development in the fight against transnational drug smuggling networks, Punjab Police and Border Security Force apprehended seven drug smugglers in Punjab's Fazilka after disrupting an international drug smuggling module. 5.47 kg of pure-grade heroin and Rs 1.7 lakh in cash were taken from the detained individuals by the police during the combined operation.
