Ahead of the Pran Pratistha ceremony at Ram Mandir, the cyber crimes are on the rise in Ayodhya, the police cautioned on Saturday.

The police said that given the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in the city, cybercriminals are taking advantage of people's faith and committing fraud by sending fake QR codes to collect donations in the name of Ram Mandir, distributing free prasad to the common people, VIP pass and entry pass to visit the Ram Mandir and even by creating a fake mandir website, ANI reported.

The police have requested citizens not to reply to any unknown person's request or any WhatsApp message sent by any unknown person without verification or donate money to anyone or on any website without verification.

The booking for obtaining 'aarti' passes at the Ram Mandir started in December 2023. The rituals will be performed three times a day - 6:30 am, 12 pm, 7:30 pm for Lord Ram for which passes are generated for the devotees.

The Pran Pratishtha of the Lord Ram's idol will be held on January 22 morning. A team of priests led by Lakshami Kant Dixit will lead the rituals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the ceremony. Several celebrities, including actors and sports personalities are also expected to attend the event.

Ahead of the inauguration, hundreds of Lord Ram devotees have already started thronging the Ram Mandir complex in Ayodhya. Security forces are keeping a strict vigil ahead of the grand event, ensuring citizen's safety.
