A stone structure on the premises of the University of Hyderabad was turned into a ‘Ram temple’ on Ram Navami triggering protests by the students’ union and allegations that it was an attempt to “saffronise” the campus.
While many unions accused the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of trying to disturb harmony, the latter distanced itself from the structure and called it the religious freedom of students even as it conducted the usual Ram Navami celebrations on the campus, reported Indian Express.
