In a classic example of violence begetting violence, a rowdy on the way to pay last respects to a relative was hacked to death in a broad daylight.

The incident was reported on Kodathi-Huskur Road in Vartur police station limits yesterday afternoon. The deceased Begur Anil (32), a resident of Begur, was closely associated with notorious rowdy JCB Narayana. Anil was running a granite business and was infamous in Electronics City and Sarjapur police stations and was an accused in a double murder reported in Hebbagodi police station limits in 2005.

According to cops, a relative of Anil's had passed awayu00a0 and he was on the way in his car to pay his last respects. Midway, he was waylaid by a gang of miscreants and attacked with lethal weapons. Anil was hacked to death and the miscreants fled from the scene thereafter. The police suspect that rival gang members eliminated him over longstanding enmity.
