Union Finance Minister said the budget outlay for health increased to Rs 2,23,846 crore in 2021-22, an increase of 137 per cent in comparison to the previous year's budget.

Two Indian vaccine manufacturers--Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech--welcomed the allocation of Rs 35,000 crore on Covid-19 vaccination in the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday.
Adar Poonawalla, CEO of SII called the announcements made in the healthcare sector as the "best investment any country can make."
