An iconic leader and freedom fighter, Subhash Chandra Bose, famously known as Netaji, is an inspiring personality for younger generations. Born on January 23, 1897, Netaji led a young wing of the Indian National Congress in the late 1920s as a president.

He urged the Indian army men to stay positive and keep doing what best they could do for the country. The first Indian National Army (INA) was formed by Netaji. He started Azad Hind Fauj in 1943, which allowed over thousands of youths to join the freedom struggle for independence from British colonial rule.

On his birth anniversary, here are a few inspirational quotes by Subhash Chandra Bose:

  • “Freedom is not given, It. Is taken”
  • “The secret of political bargaining is to look stronger than what you really are.”
  • “It is our duty to pay for our liberty with our own blood.”
  • “One individual may die for an idea, but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives.”
  • “Never lose your faith in the destiny of India. There is no power on Earth that can keep India in bondage. India will be free, that too, soon.”
  • “It is blood alone that can pay the price of freedom. Give me blood and I will give you freedom”
