A man allegedly strangulated his pregnant wife to death after suspecting her of having an extra-marital affair, police said on Sunday. Sachin Yadav, husband of victim Sheetal Yadav (21) hailing from Sector 3 here, surrendered himself to the Model Town police today and confessed to the crime. At his disclosure, police recovered decomposed body of Sheetal Yadav from a well in Gheelawas village of Gurgaon district, 12 km from here, they said. Sachin told his interrogators that he had thrown Sheetal's body into the well after strangulating her to death on July 16, police said. He also reportedly told them that he suspected his wife of having an extra marital affair which led him to the crime. Sheetal got married to Sachin Yadav, a native of the Najafgarh area of Delhi and now residing at Sector 10 in Gurgaon, in 2009. She was pregnant and was doing her diploma in electrical engineering from a private institute at Loharu in Bhiwani district. Police said when she came to Rewari on July 16, Sachin took her to Gheelawas village where she was strangled to death and her body thrown into the well. When Sheetal went missing, her mother Kailsah Devi filed a complaint on July 17 following which the Model town police registered a case of disappearance. However, the accused confessed to his crime and was arrested subsequently. A case of murder and destruction of evidence of offence was lodged against him, police said.
