FIR lodged against constable for duping a man of Rs 5 lakh in the name of getting his son a job in the police force A case has been registered against a suspended Delhi police constable for allegedly duping a man of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of finding his son a job in the police department. The victim, Ashok Kumar, approached the DCP south and got an FIR lodged against the accused constable Inderdeep. A senior police officer said that Ashok gave Rs 5 lakh in several instalments to the accused. Ashok wanted his son Deepak to join Delhi police. Inderdeep had introduced himself as a sub-inspector. "The accused had come up with a clever plot. The victim claimed that Inderdeep made his son stay at the New Police Line barrack for two months. During this period the victim and his family used to think that their son Deepak was undergoing training and would soon join the police force. Later on, when Ashok inquired about Inderdeep he came to know that he was suspended and was a constable not an SI. The victim then approached the police," said a senior police officer. The police officer also stated that the accused constable lives in police colony in Narela area. The FIR against him has been lodged with Malviya Nagar police station as he took the bribe from the victim at PTS Malviya Nagar. Inderdeep was introduced to Ashok by his brother-in-law Surenderjeet. Inderdeep had told the victim that he had helped several people get job in the police department. When the victim asked him about his son's job the accused demanded Rs 6 lakh. Both sides finally settled at 5 lakh rupees and the amount was to be paid in instalments. A police officer said that the accused hasn't been arrested. Only an FIR has been lodged against him and the matter is being investigated. "The victim has claimed that his son had been living in barrack number 7 at New Police Line in Kingsway Camp area. The accused provided Deepak a police uniform, cap and other accessories. The accused also gave him a joining letter but soon took it back. The victim's family grew suspicious and started inquiring about the accused when Deepak was not provided an I-card," added the police officer. SPOT THE FAKE A man passing himself off as a constable of the Delhi Police was arrested and a fake police identity card seized from him on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Vikas, 23, a resident of Sonepat in Haryana. Vikas, 23, was arrested at the Sindhu border with Haryana in north Delhi. "He introduced himself as a constable of Delhi Police and when asked for an identity card, he produced a fake ID card of the Delhi Police," a police official said.
