A traffic constable was reportedly abused and then assaulted by a motorist after he stopped them from driving on the wrong side of the road in Bhendi Bazaar yesterday.
The two occupants of the car — a lady and the male driver — drove away from the scene after thrashing the cop, and even evaded a check point set up to nab them after the incident was reported by the constable to the control room from his wireless handset.u00a0
The incident occurred at 6 pm, when constable Motiram More, attached with Pydhonie traffic division, intercepted a Skoda car (MH43 V 4432) driving on the wrong side of the narrow and busy road.
