While the members of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) trying to convey to people that immersion of Ganesh idols in the river was safe at immersion ghats, activists from the Cummins Company were trying to convey the exact opposite and urged devotees to use tanks installed by the civic body for immersions
A few of the HJS members held placards stating that immersion of idols in the water did not cause any pollution. Some of theplacards even displayed the message that a devotee would be showing his utmost respect to the religion by option for traditional visarjan.u00a0
