A Delhi court Saturday sent two Zee journalists to two days' police custody, after investigators said they needed to bring them face-to-face with Zee group chairman Subhash Chandra in an alleged Rs.100-crore extortion bid case
Metropolitan Magistrate Ankit Singhla sent the two journalists to police custody till Dec 10.u00a0Chandra and his son and Zee group"s managing director Puneet Goenka were questioned till 11.30 p.m. and confronted with the two arrested journalists in the case, police said.u00a0
Chandra and Goenka were then allowed to go and their questioning will continue Sunday, police added. u00a0They appeared before police in connection with the alleged Rs.100-crore extortion bid from Jindal group of companies. Additional Public Prosecutor Rajiv Mohan earlier sought three days" police remand for the two Zee journalists - Sudhir Chaudhary, head of Zee News, and Samir Ahluwalia, head of Zee Business.
