Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat quits

The BJP legislative party will meet Wednesday morning to select the new chief minister of the state, a senior party leader said

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Tuesday resigned and handed his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya.

The move came after heavy speculation through out morning, with Rawat expected to address a press conference ahead of his meeting the Governor. However, the 60-year-old BJP leader first met Maurya and then proceeded to the media conference.
