To read someone else's account of road trips on travel portals and books is like ogling at someone else's girlfriend because that's the best you can do. Unless you ready your backpack, put on your helmet and get on to the wheels, you can't even approximate the fun and challenges of motorcycling trails. Read on as we give you a dope on an upcoming ride through which you can get a first-hand-experience.u00a0u00a0

A good start
Biking, it looks, is an easy task when you flip through the pages ofu00a0 travelogues but truth, like always, is not what you believe but what you haven't experienced. You can't one day wake up and decide to ride to Ladakh just because you've met some bikers who have just returned from the bikers' paradise. You've got to prepare for it. And such short distance rides can be a stepping stone. Says Srijith, one of the members of organising committee of Team456 (the group that has come up with the trip) and fellow rider, " For a fresher, who wants to explore the idea of

biking before taking it up like an avid rider, such a trip is advisable because it would just take six-seven hours to reach the destination. A lady who has registered for the trip would come along with her daughter. If she can show such high level of commitment to biking, what stops anyone else?"

Come to the point
The trip, the entry to which is strictly restricted on first come first serve basis, will start at 6am on November 19. Close to 30
bikers (the upper limit) would meet at one of the petrol pumps in East Delhi. Adds Srijith, "As of now the gang will meet at Ghazipur Petrol Pump. If there're any changes we'll inform the members."
