We are trying to restore the trust: Army chief after India-China talks breakthrough

India on Monday announced it has reached an agreement with China on patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh; this is seen as a major breakthrough in ending the over four-year-long military standoff

A day after India announced reaching an agreement with China on patrolling along the LAC in eastern Ladakh, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday said as of now "we are trying to restore the trust" and both sides will have to "reassure each other" to achieve this.

He was speaking at an interaction session here after delivering a lecture hosted by defence think-tank USI.
