There&rsquo;s good news for Western Railway (WR) passengers. By the end of this year, WR will add 35 more services. WR authorities took the decision after getting repeated demands from their passengers for an increase in the number of trains. <img alt="Train" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/Train_1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 344px; " /> Pic for representational purposes only The frequency of the services hasn&rsquo;t been decided as yet; neither has the starting point and destination. &ldquo;We have not finalised on the services that will be put on track as yet. However, we have already begun working towards increasing the services. By end of this year, around 35 additional services will be put on track,&rdquo; said an official from Western Railway, on condition of anonymity. At present, WR has 1,274 services (including Churchgate, Dadar, Bandra-starting trains) and on an average, a train arrives every four minutes. &ldquo;Even after this, we were getting demands from passengers to increase our services, especially during peak hours,&rdquo; the official added.u00a0Apart from increasing the services, Western Railway will also convert all its nine-coach trains to 12-coach trains. They have no plans of increasing services of 15-coach train. Currently there are 12 services of 15-coach trains between Dadar to Virar everyday. Railway officials claim that they don&rsquo;t have space between two trains to increase the services, but have still taken this decision because of the increasing number of passengers travelling on the WR line. Also, 11 long distance trains will be introduced by this year-end from WR administration. Sharat Chandrayan, chief PRO, Western Railway, said, &ldquo;Yes, this has been already announced and work has been already started.&rdquo;
